PARISH PRIEST

Rev. Dr. Marci Pounders, D.Min, M.Div. – “Mother Marci”

Mother Marci serves as the Parish Priest of St. John the Apostle Episcopal Church, Pottsboro, Texas.  A graduate of SMU Perkins School of Theology, Dr. Pounders is an expert in pastoral care and grief work.  She spent ten years as a hospice and palliative care chaplain at Baylor University Medical Center, where she honed her skills in assisting people and families at the end of life. A dynamic preacher, speaker and author, Dr. Pounders brings empathy, compassion and humor to her audience.

Dr. Pounders has been married to Tracy Pounders, a McKinney attorney, for 36 years.  They have two children, Elizabeth and Alex.

Rose-Margaret Hayden

Rose-Margaret Hayden has been the mainstay of St. John’s for over nine years.  As church administrator, she keeps our church running smoothly and always greets people with a smile. Rose-Margaret grew up traveling the world with her father, who was in the US Department of State.  She has lived in Paris, Guatemala, India and Africa. Eventually, her family settled in the Northeast. Rose-Margaret is often assisted by her husband Terry, as they help out in everything from landscaping to altar guild.  We are so grateful all you do!

Tracy A. Pounders

Tracy Pounders, husband of Mother Marci, is an experienced video producer.  Several of his works have been featured in the Dallas Video Festival, including several People’s Choice winners.  He is a licensed Attorney at Law, and is currently the Director of the Governmental Receivables Law Section at Abernathy Roeder Boyd & Hullett, PC in McKinney.
